Anteflexed Uterus & Retroflexed CervixFrom: Tracy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 19 Jan 2000 20:22:27 -0600 (CST)
Yesterday, I went to my family doctor for a pap exam (OBGYN always booked for weeks)and was told that I have an anteflexed uterus & a retroflexed cervix. I understand the position the uterus & cervix are in (cervix facing my back when standing instead of the floor and bent at junction)and why this causes pain during intercourse. My question is what other effects does this have... cause of my heavy periods and cramping? make it difficult to conceive? difficult to carry a pregnancy to term?....And is it something that can/should be 'repaired'? PLease help...I'm a little freaked out. Thanks. (Also, I searched the archives, but found no situation where both of these occurred)
