I looked for and have found an old post from be to you about my friend Brenda who had been recently diagnosed with breast cancer in 9-97. It turned out Brenda and I were both from Massachusetts and knew jsut about everything about anything we wrote about. Brenda has been sending me cards for all important dates and hung in there with me during my broken leg (when I had Really planned to visit her and her husband on Cape Cod instead of sitting in a wheelchair in Austin TX)

Well Brenda is in the hospital in Boston with a re-accurance. She is fighting like crazy and has had a few ups and downs thrown into make matters more difficult. But she is a trooper and has kept her warm, loving, hopeful attitude throughout it all.

I have a quilt she made for me last year when I moved into my new home. It's a "strong vibes quilt" for hugging when you need good health real bad. I have been giving that old quilt a bit of a hug lately for Brenda.

If anyone would like to send her an email to tell her hello I Know she would love to hear from you. She has a BrendasAngels group email that she uses to keep her friends in the family and she is relying on her computer for contact with the "real world". She is in acute care rehab and will be moving out of the hospital in Boston and back nearer her beloved family next week.

She wrote today to tell me of the young residents that have asked her to call them by their first name and how "new" this is to her (She's an older gal like me) as she is used to saying Doctor. But she says she loves it and finds she can say things to them Jeff and Dave that she never felt she could say to a doc before. So we live and learn..

Brenda is dear to me because she wrote to this forum when it was fairly new and because I had had breast cancer the year before we became fast off forum friends.

Please feel free to send her an electronic card or an email and just say you are an OBGYN.netter, she'll welcome you into her family as she did me. Brenda is not shy, must be a Boston thing) and loves to write and receive emails. You can reach her at

Brenda Neily [crnberry@ici.net]

I think a prayer or two wouldn't hurt either.
