Vaginal infectionFrom: Christine (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 12 Jan 2000 15:19:58 -0600 (CST)
I delivered a baby vaginally in Sept.1999. Since that time I have had vaginal burning and a yellow discharge with painful intercourse. My ob/gyn found elevated white blood cells indicating an infection. I was on a one day oral dose of metronidazole and also the 5-day dose of metronidazole vaginal gel with no change. I am very concerned that this infection could possibly cause permanent damage. My ob/gyn does not know what is causing this infection. I had a pelvic ultra sound which looked good. ANy suggestions on what to do would be greatly appreciated.
