Diarrhea in pregnancyFrom: Ken (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 6 Jan 2000 16:00:15 -0600 (CST)
My wife is 21 weeks pregnant with triplets. She's had diarrhea for two months, almost continuously. Her doctors have checked the usual things, and can't find any reason for it, and are rather stumped. Controlling her diet does not clearly make a difference; it certainly hasn't resolved the problem. But the aspect of the issue we're most concerned about is nutrition: should she return to a more or less regular diet (with dairy products, some fruit, vegetables) or should she remain dairy-free, and eating little fruit and vegetables? We're worried that the babies may not be getting adequate nourishment. Her weight gain is ok, about a pound a week, but not great, and she certainly craves dairy. Thanks for any suggestions!
