Very scared, severe pain, surgery FridayFrom: Anna (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 4 Jan 2000 18:31:12 -0600 (CST)
Hi everyone, I've been having right side ovary located pain for about 5 weeks now. In the past week, it's gotten so painful that I've had to go from Darvaset (take 2 and 2 hours later hurting) to Vicodan. I've seen a Gastrointerologist, who has ruled all out except possibly an irritated appendix (but no increased WBC or fever). My OB/GYN has been great about pain management. We saw each other today for my pre-op visit. I asked my long list of questions. When I asked what the possibilities were she said adhesions (had 10cm cyst removed 4/98), endo (none seen last surgery), troubled appendix, or cancer. Ultrasound shows nothing. Bowels are basically normal now, although pain after BM. BM are compressed like when my uterus was swollen when I got periods. I take BCP back to back to avoid migraines, and haven't had a period in over a year. I have been bumped up to OrthoNovum 1/50 was on 1/28. If I was your patient, what would you expect? I'm rather scared, but resolved that at least this pain will end soon. I'm 25, I don't think I have a high chance of cancer. I guess I'm rambling. I don't really have any specific questions but I would like anyone's impressions on this case. The thought of cancer and never having children has really shaken me. Thank you.
