Hi, I am 12wks pregnant with a very much longed for ivf baby. We had our nuchal translucency scan at 12wks and 1day and I asked the sonographer if there were any way that he could tell the gender at this early stage. We lost our baby boy in a car accident 2 years ago. I had totally convinced myself that we were having a girl. Anyway, the sonographer categorically said we were having a little fella. He even gave us a photo of his "manhood". Both myself and my husband were over the moon, as we had never even dared to hope that we would be having another little boy. The thing is, other people that I have told have said that he must be wrong as it is impossible to see the gender at this early stage and even if he did, it still could be a girl. I don't know whether to be excited at having a boy or just to calm down and wait till the 20weeks scan. Could you tell me if you or anyone else has been able to tell the gender this soon, doing a nuchal scan and if they have been correct. Don't get me wrong, we will adore any child we are given, but if I were totally honest, I would adore to have another son, followed by lots of babies of any gender at all! The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
