Re: Policy re: Fetal genderFrom: DR RANA (ssrana@ch1.dot.net.in)Sun Sep 19 01:23:45 1999
Dr.Patty, Thanks for the reply. Here, the law, not to divulge the sex is because there was increase tendency to female foetocide. The parents only want male child mainly after first female child ;to complete the family of two childern. Secondly, it is a myth to run the name of the family the male child is required, more so to keep the ansestral property in the family as, if; you do not have male child (hair) your anssestral property will go to your uncles. But that Law has been modified, but ,still the myth is going on in mass. To tell the gender in confidence, to the patient ,fetch more money and for that you need not to give in writting just verbaly.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
