Gertrud,

We always ask if they want to know. If they do not we don't tell them. If they want to know and we see, we tell them. We also do not guarantee the results, and we tell them that unless the sex is obvious and undisputable. I regard it as a good QA issue. It is NOT part of the required examination in this country.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
