Re: portable 5lb. ultrasoundFrom: Terry J DuBose (tjdubose@juno.com)Sat May 29 09:48:57 1999
Roberta, et al. I have not seen it, but have heard about it. It will have many advantages, uses in ambulances, labor & delivery, all kinds of places. The only issue will be education and experience of the user(s). Use and interpretation of sonography does not come through osmosis... it takes dedicated study and practice. I would hope manufacturers would take a responsible position of not selling these things to just anyone.... they should require some kind of certification... and the ARDMS is the only certification available for sonographers, sonologists, nurses, physicians, EMTs, or who ever. Peace, Terry J. DuBose, M.S. RDMS FAIUM On vacation in Austin... Actually Roberta, I am less than a mile from you right now... just of Spicewoods Springs Road. I'll give you a call sometime this week.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
