Echogenic Bowel - quite a few turning up on ultrasounds...(more)From: Darlene (ddavis@asce.org)Tue May 4 15:27:20 1999
I am about the 7th person on various boards that have had an ultrasound that shows an echogenic bowel. When I had mine, the bowel wasn't as bright as the bone but was a little brigher than the other organs. The specialists said not to worry they wouldn't increase my risks. NO other findings were on the ultrasound, my triple screen came back 1: 4,700 and my age is 30. Out of the 7 who are dealing with this finding - about 4 have gone on to have amino and all have turned up negative for downs and cf. Why is this considered a softmarker? ARe there really more findings in normal babies than in downs babies? Any information would be helpful. Thanks so much.
