Re: sonographers right to give information to patientFrom: Kathleen Murphy (murphy@gwc.maricopa.edu)Tue Mar 30 09:37:27 1999
Hello to all on the list. This is a bit of a roundabout response to the question of the Sonographer giving information to the patient. We have just purchased the video tape produced by ARDMS: "Ultrasound a Clearer Understanding". It is an educational tape designed to showcase the ARDMS credentials and training in Ultrasound. In the tape, they clearly have Sonographers discussing the exam with the patients. You can hear them speaking and pointing to the screen during an OB and a Carotid examination. FYI: The tape can be purchased by calling : 800-541-9754, and if memory serves it was only $10.00

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
