Breast SonographyFrom: DuBose, Terry (DuboseTerryJ@exchange.uams.edu)Thu Mar 11 11:48:25 1999
For those with an interest in Breast Sonography, there was an article in Tuesday's (March 9, 1999) New York Times (p. D6) by a journalist who was found to have breast cancer. She had annual radiographic mammography for 13 years, and this year it was sonography that located the mass. I was particularly interested in the semantics of the article, the author did not use the term "ultrasound" at all... always "sonography" or "sonograms". The one glaring error was she defined Sonography as "ultra-high-speed sound waves". Oh well, it is an interesting human interest story, very close to home from the author's point of view. Peace, Terry J. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
