I don't think Tim cares to make his dislike for me, which I think is waning, conspicuous by caning my ass...hard to hate someone who is boring. (which is not your case) Right after I interviewed with Midwest peri., I read an article in the Wall Street Journal about taking a position that sounded great but not feeling comfortable with the people you were working with - everyone agreed from execs to blue collar workers that you won't enjoy your work if you do not get along. This has been my gut feeling about St. Luke's since 1995. It was my feeling about Midwest as well although I was disappointed that they "rejected me" (and a certain remark that I wasn't the best candidate - a real slap in the face when you think of who I was being compared to!) My personal feeling is that there is a reason that jobs, deaths, relationships, etc. don't work out. What's that old saying " when one door closes another opens" or "ever end is the beginning of a new beginning". Something will deliver you from the KU position. Interesting thoughts on detecting fetal anemia non-invasively. I have often thought that determining either blood velocity or cardiac output in a fetus at risk for anemia would make more sense than doing a procedure (PUBS) that carries a 1% mortality rate. My partners are at the meeting formerly know as SPO this week. I'll let you know the goings on. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit.
