Lawson: Anterior uterine wall dehiscence...From: MARK LAWSON (lawson98@juno.com)Tue Jan 19 17:49:48 1999
someone mentioned: RE<< absolutely have no idea what the true incidence of silent >>>dehiscence of the uterine incision following successful VBAC. >>>anyone else have any personal info on this issue?<<< We have been asked about it, usually report uniform wall thickness....IMHO the main concern is to R/O accreta at the site..... we found our normal 18-20wk u/s reported anterior placenta in our patients with previous C/S and we were not mentioning the absence of accreta.... soooooo we noticed that some good referring Drs. would specifically ask to examine the previous C/S scar........on the next exam at 28-34 wks...... We do not see the request post partum. Mark "from the boondocks" Lawson, RDMS

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
