?Cervical IncompetenceFrom: Nirvi (nirvi@giasmd01.vsnl.net.in)Wed Jan 13 10:31:20 1999
Enclosed please find a picture of a pregnant lady at 22 weeks. The area scanned transabdominally shows the cervix...baby had a breech presentation. The cervix did not show a clear seperation of internal os , however a hypoechoic collection seems to be seen in the upper cervical canal causing seperation...the lower cervical canal measured 1.5cms.The picture maynot be very clear...But should This or a similar picture be diagnosed as Cervical Incompetence where clear seperation at internal os is not seen. The ?Dilated portion of cervical canal in upper segment was 8mm. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
