Dr. Worrall, I'm sorry to enter your discussion so late. I have seen this entity quite often. I am following a case at the moment, in fact. I can't remember the gestational age when I found it, but at a later scan the uterine band had grown so extensively that a fair portion of the placenta had implanted on it. I will look for some good images of it when I go to the lab tomorrow and attempt to upload them for you. The cases I have followed have had good outcome with the only complication being odd fetal position in the third trimester due to the uterine cavity becoming compartmentalized. These often look like a cavity from one direction, and a shelf from others. The amnion does not seem to be interrupted, and in no case was an amniotic band found. I have seen good vascularity in these bands.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
