Yes -- the methods of measurement of nuchal translucency (10-14 weeks) and nuchal thickness (2nd tri) are different. For nuchal translucency, the measurement is of the "black space" only. In nuchal thickness, the measurement extends to the surface of the skin. References: for translucency see the work of Nicolaides and Snijders. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
