In my practice, I came across similar problem many a times, where cervix is pulled way upward and difficult to visualize in association with a pelviabdominal mass. Most of the time, on exploration it came out to be a broad ligament mass,e.g.,Uterine(Fibroid) or Ovarian mass- benign, malignant, endometriotic. I feel it is very important to know the course of the ureter as it runs at very close proximity. In malignant or severe endometriosis, it is better to get MRI/CT scan to demarcate the extent of spread or involvement. Therefore, it is better to get full investigation done or atleast be very careful to trace the ureter while operating. I would like to know the operatve finding. Dr. Amit Sengupta,MBBS,MD,Ph.D
