Re: DMS Case of the MonthFrom: DuBose, Terry (DuboseTerryJ@exchange.uams.edu)Wed Jan 6 10:39:58 1999
Donna, thanks for this. You and others are correct. The bladder does seem to be over distended. Looking at the remainder of the case, it appears that the bladder was emptied before the case was completed. We did not mention the bladder or cervix because it was not the point of the case. However, your point is well taken. Thanks. Peace, Terry J. DuBose, M.S., RDMS, FAIUM University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, USA http://www.io.com/~dubose/ http://www.uams.edu/CHRP/dmshome.htm http://www.obgyn.net/us/panel/dubose_us.htm --- Terry, Nice case, your students did a fine job! I would like to comment also on the full bladder and cervix image. One of the reasons we are doing ( 75%) of the time transvaginal cervical images is due due the elongation of the cervix with a full bladder which can easily over estimate the true cervical length. In our experience we have seen on several occassions a shortened cervix when we do the TVS. Food for thought! Donna Kepple >

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
