Re: clinical problemFrom: Suzy5324@aol.comWed Jan 6 00:50:47 1999
Any post menopausal female who presents with a vag. bleed could benefit from a pelvic, transvag.; and, if necessary, a sonohysterogram. But since you feel a mass posterior to the cervix, an abdominal and pelvic cat scan with iv, oral, and rectal contrast is definitely in order to r/o colon tumor & mets. Hopefully the cat scan can be done in a timely manner. The next step should be surgical intervention, if at all necessary after the diagnostic exams. I'm not a surgeon, but I would certainly want to have an idea what I will be cutting out when operating on a patient. Suzanne Hettena RT RDMS

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
