Dear Martin,

As you have discovered, the rich blood supply to feed the baby can make an enormous problem when the uterus is not able to stop it post partum. This is one of these situations. I am so happy to hear that all iswell for your wife and daughter!

Having faced this, you will indeed understand for the rest of your life how precious each moment is! You are given the opportunity to see clearly through the fears that few are given. Use it for life! Jim Smeltzer MD

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
