Mark,

As an adept at both US and D&C, I have rarely encountered a situation I did not figure out with a curet held between my thumb and index finger, which required intraoperative US, which I have then used. I have found it useful in teaching those who had not developed the touch to figure out what they were feeling to help them do a D&C. I used it for helping me chase an elusive polyp once & grunging out safely a submucous fibroid.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
