Lawson: Hysterosonography.....From: MARK LAWSON (lawson98@juno.com)Thu Aug 27 23:07:38 1998
Audrey said > I need some information please!!! A physician I >work with asked me today if I have ever done Hysterosonography. I have not. He >wants to start doing these prior to D&E on women who have chronic periods, and >a thickened endometrial lining. Does anyone one have any words of wisdom on >this topic???Thanks for your consideration. >Audrey Mendenhall, RDMS<RDCS<RVT Oh sure you've done it.... you just never called it a sonohysterogram before...... I do believe the Steve Goldstein coined the term and watched endometrial waves and measured thangs in the lining..... Of course Dr. Goldstein also inserted a small catherter and instilled some saline and visualized the lining surrounded polyps, checked for tupe patency also..... A real simple set up if I remember the talk.... The procedures sound very interesting.... I wish I has some docs asking about it........ But what I think may have even more promise is the D&C under ultrasound guidance.....especially those for retained products, cuff hematomatoes, etc...... Anyway the point is if you've looked at the uterus with sound you've done Hysterosonography......... Mark the Lawson, RDMS Texas
