cord

Is anyone evaluating thickness of cord in 3rd trimester? One of our OB docs thinks that we should be able to evaluate amount of Wharton's Jelly around the cord vessels, if there is too little then that is an indication that the cord is becoming more brittle. I have been looking at cords for the last week and after about 32 weeks they all seem about the same, maybe I need a newer machine (just wishful thinking). Thanks for any help.
