We have not come out with any suggestions to date because we do not yet have the outcomes and the analysis to back them up. I will share one recommendation with you that I believe is important, these are called "MINI BREAKS". Every 5-10 mins during scanning stop for a few seconds put the transducer down and open and close your hand about ten times. The next 5-10 mins when you stop roll your shoulders and/or tilt your head from side to side. These very quick and simple exercises will take the muscles out of spasm that you are using and will only add about 1 to 2 minutes at the most to your scan time. Be sure and bring your arm into your body each time to reduce the abduction which is the cause of many of the upper extremity injuries. Finally always support your body (arm elbow wrist) while you are scanning so that you are not taking the weight of the transducer and cables yourself. Terry J. DuBose wrote:

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
