Re: Lawson..... Nancy epitomizes the difference ......From: Terry J. DuBose (tjdubose@juno.com)Mon Aug 17 22:27:04 1998
"Is Timor-Tritsch benign?"!!! Mark, can I use that on my OB/GYN Final??? Your stream-of-consciousness thread is amazing... I really enjoyed this one. :-) Thanks for the kudos, but me modest? Never happen... one of my earliest memories is standing on the pew between my Mom and Dad singing at the top of my voice, "This Little Light of Mine, I'm Going to Let it Shine" in a Baptist church in Brownfield, Texas. No, modesty is not one of my vices. Wish we could make the elevation of the Sonographic profession faster. The ARDMS is well respected, by those who know anything about it... it is a good start, but much tedious education of a lot of legislators, administrators, and general public to do yet. But we must keep pushing... hear here, Mark. Peace, Terry J. Here in Texas over half the ultrasound done in OB is by unreg. "tecks" and maybe her doc watches the video tape at half speed..... But I come not to judge cause I do remember when I thought the cerebellum and cerebrum were the same thang..... I thought that it was like tomato and toe-mato..... silly rabbit.... Kix are for kids.... > So hang in there Nancy..... I bet we all have some stories of how we initially thought things were.... Like the portal system.... Tell us your favorite anatomy mix up won't you..... I we can't laugh about how we got here we can't help the elevation of our successors..... or for that matter the elevation of ourselves !!!!! BTW.... I'm amazed TJ didn't mention one of my favorite textbooks.... and that is "FETAL SONOGRAPHY" He's so modest cause he wrote it.... but frankly Nancy this book has replaced my Kurtz & Goldberg and I don't even open my Kobayashi any more :-) So now I find that I use my Williams OB, then check out the index on Dubose's FS (as we call it here, a variation of Norton Utilities program FF or find file) then onto Callen.... BTW I've just received Drose's fetal heart book.... This 30 days to read it sounds nice but they don't understand the stack of "to read" is 45days long ;-) God knows I love the good reference book like Buyse's "Birth Defect Encyclopedia" Now if only I can get all the info together on the computer...... BTW got the Platypus disk the other day....anyone else play with it ???? Maybe that is the answer to my "check all sources first" >>Sincerely, >>Mark >Next:....... Stupid questions I've asked in class "Is Timor-Tritsch benign?" "How do you improve an inferior vena cava?" and lately.... >"At what age do babies start changing their own diaper?" you see I'm not qualified to be a dad.......... help 8-| > >_______________________

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
