Griffin, you give good advice. I would add some sort of upper and lower body physical activity (Yoga or weight machine training, etc). That and your conscious relaxation and focus are the best things any sonographer can do for reducing repetitive stress problems... and improving the general health care for the patient and sonographer. (I realize making such sweeping statements without outcomes measures and analysis is not scientific, but I believe it anyway).

relaxing your death grip on the probe (if possible) and untense your
shoulder muscles. It takes a couple of days of really trying to
remember to do this, but eventually it becomes habit and I find it helps
me to forget the outside annoyances of a busy dept. and to concentrate
on this particular pt. and case.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
