Another mild hydrocephalic case

Hi,

I want to discuss about a case who is 31 years old and having her second pregnancy. The first one was delivered by C/S in 1996 with the indication of primipar breech presentation. She had her first antenatal ultrasonographic examination at 18 6/7 weeks, when a unilateral dilatation in left cerebral ventricle with a prominent choroid plexus (but no cysts) was noted. Three different examinors evaluated the case since then and ventricular width was recorded to be 13 mm, 11.5 mm and 12.6 mm consequtively. No other fetal abnormality / malformation was noticed. A genetic amniocentesis was performed with a result of 46, XX and normal constitutional karyotype.

I believe this is a typical borderline case of hydrocephalus. My plans for future about this case is just to observe the fetus for possible progression of hydrocephalus. If we are lucky and no progression occurs, there will be less problem. But if the ventricle dilates more and more, this will not be a good surprise. She is 24 4/7 weeks pregnant now and far from any indication for termination of pregnancy, I believe.

Thanks in advance for any contribution.
