AFI measurementsFrom: Suzy14 (Suzy14@aol.com)Sat Mar 14 22:00:18 1998
In a message dated 98-03-14 23:20:01 EST, rmc@nmia.com writes: << One of my coworkers insists on students holding the transducer in the sagittal plane for AFI's. I and others feel it doesn't matter as long as you are perpendicular to mom's spine and measuring an AP depth. Any other opinions? >> That's right....AFI can be measured by adding the depth of each of the quadrants (do not include the cord!) in either transverse or longitudinal as long as the transducer is held upright /perpendicular to mom's back. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
