Re: Death of newborn by Cord around neckFrom: Abdel-Maguid Ramzy HOTMAIL (ramzyam@hotmail.com)Sat Jun 21 01:39:17 2008
Dear Vicas 1- USG is not harmful to the mother or the baby, but only if used judiciously. 2- Cord around the neck cannot be detected except by USG, and not by physical examination. USG is a very helpful tool to check foetal well-being before delivery. 3- meconium aspiration during delivery is a serious problem. Clear the respiratory passages should be done immediately together with oxygen inhalation and heart monitoring 4-If foetal distress is detected by CTG during labour then emergency CS may help save the baby. All the best Abdel-Maguid Ramzy

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
