Re: Fetal Heart Assessment in Less than a MinuteFrom: Terry DuBose (terrydubose@sbcglobal.net)Thu May 22 21:00:27 2008
Oh, you thinking about the automated sectors of modern 4D. In the 1980s & 90s, we measured 2D orthogonal planes and calculated the volume from XYZ planes. Do the transverse head circumference and BPD, then rotate 90 degrees and get the coronal head circumference and the vertical diameter. I think you have seen this article, and understand the process. We got good estimates in almost all fetuses. When we ended the 10 year data gathering we had over 10,000 cases by many different sonographers. It can be done... and the chips will get faster and larger, and we will do more and more. http://www.obgyn.net/us/cotm/0007/3d-bpd-correction.htm Terry "art fougner, md" <evsono@pipeline.com> wrote: Very nice ... but in the real world ... as You acquire the volume, the fetus often decides he doesn't like the paparazzi. Volume acquisition still requires patience, luck and a cooperative fetus. Art

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
