To colleagues who may have an interest:

Please join us! Our hands-on Fetal Echocardiography course will be held at Gulfcoast Ultrasound Institute's 6,600 sq. ft. facility in beautiful St. Pete Beach, Florida.

The course has been designed for sonographers and/or physicians who are currently performing OB ultrasound examinations but want to expand their skills set to include fetal echocardiography heart screening and extended applications.

A systematic approach will be provided and will include a quick-reference laminated card to easily assess normal versus abnormal fetal hearts. Other topics will include sonographic appearance and evaluation of common pathology such as left and right heart defects, heart failure and non-congenital heart disease problems.

Participants will receive a comprehensive course notebook, attend didactic sessions in the mornings and practice hands-on scanning on live pregnant models in the afternoons. 16.0 AMA PAR Category 1 CME credits will be offered. We offer discounted lodging rates and can make reservations for you at beach hotels not far from our facility. We look forward to meeting you at this exciting hands-on educational opportunity!

Faculty includes:

James C. Huhta, MD Professor of Pediatrics and Obstetrics-Gynecology, University of South Florida Tampa, FL

Jill Beithon, RT, RDMS, RDCS, RVT Supervisor, Diagnostic Ultrasound Lake Region Healthcare Corp, Fergus Falls, MN

Dody Nollmann BA, RDMS Perinatal Cardiac Sonographer All Children's Hospital St. Petersburg, Florida

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
