Re: TAX rate and universal health careFrom: Laureano Folgar (lfolgar@vianwe.com)Tue Mar 11 15:59:42 2008
Sure, we can do better Probably the right way is in the middle of US system and EC system. We have an important problem with waiting list, but our system is not so black as Claudia thinks a universal health care is. It is a problem of solidarity. More money you spend in others health care, who cannot afford it, less health care you get for your money. In Spain all pregnant women have the same health care opportunities, so 50% of ours deliveries are Moroccans women, because my hospital are in a town with a border with Morocco. Obviously Spanish pregnant have less than they paid because they share half of their facilities with others country. Other point of view is that for 1000 pregnant per year they have their children with a mortality rate of 10 per 1000 (our mortality rate) instead of 45 per 1000 (their mortality rate), so our hospital save 35 lifes per year just doing universal care. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
