Re: TAX rate and universal health careFrom: BettyTX (bhamilt@hughes.net)Mon Mar 10 21:54:18 2008

----------------- Oh my -- sigh -- guess someone is going to have to explain this one to me. I ----------------- know "Tort is the law of civil wrongs. Tort law usually provides people with the rights to compensation when another person harms their legally protected interests.[Wikipedia]" I also know that many in the U. S. are law-suit happy. If we have universal healthcare, would it be logical for malpractice insurance to be paid with taxes? Of course, there would probably be some kind of oversight, but if they seek input from medical people couldn't this issue be resolved? When I worked for our state and county tax office, I had to be bonded because I handled large sums of money. *I* didn't pay for the bonding; my "employer" did, I think. Would such be feasible in the medical field? Betty

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
