If you look at the cost of overhead as a percent of total expenditures the public/private cooperative known as medicare has the LOWEST overhead of any health insurance system on the planet. The only problem with it is that they are planning to balance the medicare budget on the backs of the physicians by cutting their pay until there is enough there to pay everyone. Jim

We as sonographers need to learn all we can and mentor good replacements. Quality improvement can track what really works for the least amount of expense and saves the patient money. Health care does not need to be part of the government, it just needs to be available so that the everyone can be covered on a “pool rated” basis. Can you imagine the same people who run the postal service and medicare now would be capable of running something which is our largest national product??? I cannot. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
