Re: Important PBS series in MarchFrom: art fougner, md (evsono@pipeline.com)Sun Mar 9 15:16:03 2008
I say each patient/consumer becomes responsible ... boost the HSA deduction, backed by a govt-funded catastrophic insurance plan, and let the patients negotiate the fee for service. I think most small businesses would welcome such a system. Oh ... and for those border states ... Let's send the bill for the uncompensated care for those who come here without coverage, or papers, to the country of origin. There are many permutations which could work. It's time for the politicians on both sides of the aisle to back off and get a commission of doctors, business folk, consumer advocates, and economists to look at this problem seriously and make their suggestions. It's a pity that medical care has become yet another issue which generates more heat than light. Art

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
