For colleagues who may have interest: The Fetal Heart: What the OB Sonographer Needs to Know November 9th 12:30 pm -1:30 pm E.S.T Gulfcoast Ultrasound Institute will be holding a lunch-hour presentation on the Fetal Heart on November 9th 12:30 pm -1:30 pm E.S.T. This one-hour lecture will give you details on how to look for additional clues to congenital heart anomalies by looking deeper into the 4-chamber view. You will learn about normal chamber sizes, normal ventricular wall thicknesses and contractility. We will discuss the normal cardiac size, axis and position in the thorax, and we will describe the cardiac septi and the movement of the fossa ovalis flap. You will also learn how to move from the 4-chamber view into the outflow tract views and great vessels. This lecture will demystify the fetal heart in an easy and systematic way. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
