Hello, I am a 2nd yr DMS student in TX and I have a quick question. We are working on our lower extremity vascular studies and I noticed that it can be common to remove the GSV in the presence of varicosities. I was wondering if the collaterals that form have or develop valves? If they do not, then how do the collaterals move blood to the heart? Is there just constant reflux? I can't seem to find the answer to this on the web or in any of my vascular textbooks. Thanks in advance...

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
