Re: Spontaneous Uterine Rupture

Two thoughts:

1- This may be common knowledge to everyone, but it is almost always possible to see the C Section scar during the nonpregnant transvaginal ultrasound. It is also almost always possible to see them during the transvaginal first trimester genetic screen.

2- I wonder if there is a body of published reports relating the appearance of the C Section scar when not pregnant or in the first trimester, to the integrity of that scar during the pregnancy? I have seen a number of scars that would worry me if I were the responsible obstetrician, (and I always describe these scars in my report) but I never get any feedback.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
