Spontaneous Uterine RuptureFrom: DuBose, Terry (DuboseTerryJ@uams.edu)Wed Jul 11 09:06:38 2007
This is an interesting and cautionary case. "She was sent for obstetric USS which gave only indication of ascites + the fetus. No suggestion of rupture at all. However, because we suspect strongly she could have ruptured her uterus (fetal parts were easily palpable), we decided to explore." http://www.obgyn.net/ultrasound/?page=/ultrasound/present/0707/Spontaneous_Ut erine_Rupture It would be nice to be able to see the sonograms from this case. While technology cannot solve all medical problems, we can diagnose much more than we can cure, it is also often the case that sonography fails to provide the proper diagnosis because the operator is not properly educated. But that is the biased opinion of a sonographer educator. Terry J. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
