Re: Clinical Verification on ARDMS exam formFrom: James Smeltzer (James.Smeltzer@wellstar.org)Sun Jul 8 05:42:23 2007
Hi! The trainees that I have had have turned in monthly time logs on excel spread sheets. Clinical hands-on time, patient numbers that are a copy of their (Now HIPPA- protecrted) daily logs. They sign, I sign. BTW time spent reading chapter assignments, reviewing web sites all counts. THe log is helpful to the student for them to see their rapid progress, for me to see that they are actually engaging in the specialty, and to identify areas they need to learn more about. More formal programs have their own ways. I like the student-directed, cooperative approach because I believe the product is a life-time learner who realizes a personal responsibility for staying current. Jim Smeltzer

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
