If so, and that ultrasound did not show free fluid in the peritoneal cavity (most likely in the culdesac), then it is very likely that the D&C or Hysteroscopy perforated the uterus.

What happened? What! did the gynecologist say? Did the patient require surgical exploration? Did she go into shock?

I will be at the Sound Technology booth. Anybody interested in talking about ultrasound transducers is more than welcome to stop by. For the ones of you who do not know Sound Technology Inc. (STI), we manufacture transducers and, in particular, we are leader in the market for tightly curved arrays for endocavity applications.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
