The Yale University School of Medicine Department of Obstetrics,
Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences Section of Maternal Fetal Medicine
has a potential position for a research fellow in Ob-Gyn imaging. The
position will include extensive experience primarily in obstetric
ultrasound with some gynecology ultrasound as well. We perform 50-60
ultrasound examinations a day, 800 fetal echocardiograms annually, and
have an active program in fetal MRI imaging, and extensive laboratory
programs for translational research.
Our offices on campus have 9 high end ultrasound systems and a
centralized PACS system with image storage and search capabilities. With
the only children's hospital in southern Connecticut we draw fetal
anomalies for diagnosis and management from a large population area with
approximately 20,000 deliveries annually. Fellows will work with
clinical faculty and MFM fellows in our prenatal ultrasound offices.
Candidates must have an MD degree and must have completed residency in
Obstetrics and Gynecology in their home country. They will be expected
to begin with basic experience in both obstetric and gynecologic
ultrasound. Work will include both clinical and investigative scanning.
Candidates must qualify for at least a J-1 clinical visa for this 2 year
position.
This is a terrific opportunity for a junior faculty member, recent
residency graduate, or registrar to get clinical and research experience
in the US. This time will not qualify toward clinical training
(residency or MFM fellowship) in the US. A two year commitment to the
position will be expected. Some ! salary support is available. The
position could! begin 1 July, 2006.
Note that this position is intended for physicians who have not
completed ObGyn residency in the US. Fluency in English is required.
