Re: Tom Cruise Ultrasound MavenFrom: Dave Berck (djberck@yahoo.com)Fri Dec 2 08:57:59 2005
I don't see the Justice department prosecuting Tom Cruise when they have better things to do like Martha Stewart and Terry Schiavo. And does that matter? Sure, stethescopes are not very useful in the hands (ears) of an untrained person. One could even argue that they could be "dangerous" by instilling a false sense of security or conversely instilling panic in the unskilled listener/listenee. But should we regulate their sales, either by regulating the seller/buyer or regulating the manufacturer? Joe P. David J. Berck, MD, MPH

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
