Folks, National Geographic is looking for Veterinary Sonographers who "Do you know of any veterinary projects that use 4D scans?"

Can you help with real-time 3D images or video clips? If you can, please see the message below and contact Lizzie Abbot directly.

Lizzie, hope we can get some good responses to your request. I will post this in several discussion forums and ListServs.

Please let me know if I can help more.

Good luck, Terry

Dear Terry,

It was useful talking to you earlier. Here is some more information on the documentary I am researching, Back To The Womb - Mammals, which I would be grateful if you could post on your Veterinary Sonography Discussion Forum, edit it as you wish -

Back To The Womb - Mammals is a National Geographic documentary following the success of In The Womb which was broadcast back in April. It focuses on non-human Mammalian development. Using revolutionary filming techniques the programme will follow 6 different species of mammal throughout their pregnancy. The film unravels in step-by-step detail revealing the process through which individual species-specific traits develop from a common blueprint. The featured animals of the documentary are likely to be rabbit, non-human primate, giraffe, elephant, whale/dolphin as well as one or two additional stories courtesy of those animals with particularly unusual mothering practises eg: marsupials. We are in the very early stages of research so these ideals may change as the project progresses (we are open to suggestions).

Pioneer Productions has already developed ground-breaking methods for filming inside the human body. For In The Womb we used various technologically advanced methods to give an intimate and revealing study of utero development. We worked with world leading obstetrician, Professor Stuart Campbell and his 4D ultrasounds and filmed an operation inside the womb performed by Professor Nicolaides using a fetascope. Award winning special effects photographer, David Barlow, used light microscopy methods to film foetus models providing an unprecedented, detailed look at human development.

For Back To The Womb - Mammals we want to give as good an insight into non-human mammalian foetal development. We are looking for different ways in which to illustrate utero progression. Do you know of any veterinary projects that use 4D scans?

If so, please contact
