Re: elective ultrasound photos of their unborn babiesFrom: James Smeltzer (James.Smeltzer@wellstar.org)Tue Apr 26 08:42:20 2005
... If I am ever sued I HOPE that there is a full record. THE STANDARD OF CARE IS TO LOOK, NOT TO SEE! If a problem is there and obvious and I missed it - the only question is how much is it worth. Else a total record is my best defense that I did my job, IMHO. BTW The best risk management is to concentrate on doing what is best for the patient & not giving them the opportunity to save their medical record when you do not is NOT in their best interest by any stretch of the imagination. I personally would argue that this is a tort per se. ;^) Jim

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
