Re: elective ultrasound photos of their unborn babiesFrom: Allen Worrall (jworrall@alaska.net)Fri Apr 22 09:44:35 2005
This is a complete and balanced presentation of the subject. Probably the wave of the future. I wonder about the requirement that a regular physician-ordered ultrasound has to be done first. Does this mean that patient could have two ultrasounds in one day, perhaps performed by the same sonographer. I would think the insurance/Medicare/other third party payer would wonder why they have to pay for an exam that the patient is paying for out of her pocket just a few minutes later. Allen

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
