We have been doing nuchal translucency on everyone. We do not do the first trimester bloodwork primarily because I have not gotten off my butt and earned the certification. The patients do get a quad screen at 16 weeks but their risk is not calculated sequentially as it should be after the nuchal translucency, but is based on their age. The patients also get a fetal anatomic survey at 18-20 weeks.

I do not know what we get paid. I belong to a clinic and let others worry about those things. I presume we must get a reasonable amount since we have been doing it for 4-5 years, and if we were not getting paid, I presume someone in the business end would mention it. And of course lots of the doctors are very much interested in the money end of the practice of medicine. I hope we are making something, because I plan to ask the clinic to buy or lease a Philips iU22 soon.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
