I realize that y’all have struggled to keep OBGYN.net going, and have given us great latitude on editorial issues. You efforts are appreciated. Thanks for keeping on in inspite of the difficult times. Terry J. The GOOGLE system doesn't give us a lot of leeway up front to select the individually ads just to bar pornography. But we can block certain ads once we see them. We still run the site. Just trying to cover the bills and trying this Google ad server. This Doctor quality baby doppler is reliable and easy to use.” The power fairly low, but there is the scenario where granddad buys one for his daughter, who has just found she is pregnant. She could spend hours insonating a 4-14 week gestation before she ever locates the heart beat. We don’t have any idea what that much high frequency Doppler energy will do in the 1st trimester. This was taken to the AIUM Bioeffects Committee some time ago, and the FDA representative said that their budget had been cut and they had real problems with dangerous questions about medications, especially some cardiac drugs and sonography just wasn’t on their radar. It is unfortunate that it seems primarily doctors who are pushing these non-medical uses. It also appears that OBGYN.net has sold some banner space to other organizations (GOOGLE.com?) that does not screen the content from a medical professional’s point of view… bottom dollar medicine is here. Let’s ask them to block these again, but I have no idea who is actually in control of the main OBGYN.net site now. Terry

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
