Re: Techa lutein cystsFrom: E.A.Lyons (lyons@Ms.UManitoba.CA)Thu Nov 4 06:07:03 2004
As the cysts are benign why not do a percutaneous aspiration with a 20g or 22g Chiba needle under local anesthesia. This will reduce the bulk and the symptoms and can be repeated if and when the cysts grow large enough to again cause symptoms. I have done numerous cyst aspirations with no ill effects although I have not done a case exactly like this. This approach sure beats surgery.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
